History of North Alabama Pipe
North Alabama Pipe Corporation was started in 1983 by Ed Hayes and Jim Walker to make high quality weld outlets. There were only two other manufacturers when the business was started. Many others companies have been in and out of the industry. NAP is now the oldest manufacturer.
In 1987, NAP developed the “Hole System” to allow plasma cutting to make holes in pipe. Using plasma has now become the industry standard. In 1990, NAP applied plasma to cut pipe to length and this became the first Quick Cut machine. In 1994, NAP developed a welding system that measures, indexes, cuts the hole and welds outlets on pipe.
NAP has also developed other fabrication aids: Lift and Turn, Index Level, and the Index Chuck. Other machines that have been produced at NAP are – Universal Welder, Line Welder, and the Big Cut.
Our latest machine is the Make-On which tightens 1” to 2” fittings to proper torque without making any adjustments.
Over the years Ed has found that when you build your business, you need to make sure there is a great team involved. Ed prides himself on the team of people that work for him. Without the team, there would be no North Alabama Pipe Corporation.
The team at North Alabama Pipe Corporation is committed to serving our customers with personal customer service while supplying them with quality products and in-depth training on all machines.
